double entry points for the most direct user journey
After the successful Investment Summary page redesign, we set our sights on revamping the estimated target balance experience. A client can see the exact cost of their target balance through estimated monthly or one time contributions. This interactive experience gives easily digestible information through charts and scales. The transparency helps the investor make an informed decision before transferring money.

APPROACH AND RESULTS:
The Investment Summary landing page’s upper right area as optimal real estate: it’s hard to miss the two entry links to the “Change my Contribution/Target Balance” page.
Research determined the information hierarchy. We discovered that investors want to see as much information as possible while deciding monthly contribution amounts and target balances.
The designer and I had several iterations that went through user testing.
There were a couple of design constraints, mostly legal disclaimers and all the numbers. We had to be mindful of how to display that necessary information while still keeping to Chase’s simple and minimal aesthetic.
A first draft had the “Duration of your investment over years” chart spanning across the entire page, with the meter and contribution and target balance fields below.
However, left to right ultimately made the most visual sense. For instance, the investor can immediately see the meter at the top left, which will change depending on the numbers they enter in the below fields.
The investor has decided their numbers and chose the blue “Continue” button. They’re taken to the “Transfer Money” page, with drop-down menus to customize account transfers and their frequencies.
